The Challenge 🤯

‘Adopt, Don't shop’ is an approach that is becoming increasingly popular amongst the pet-lover community.

Finding a pet that is suited to their lifestyle can be a challenging task for potential pet parents, with many unsure of where to begin and how to go about this process of pet adoption.

We want you to design a solution that will help connect potential pet parents with shelters, so they may find a suitable furry companion for themselves. Think of various factors to be considered from all points of view, while creating a solution.

My Role 🧙🏻‍♀️

Research 🔍

The question that raises itself, is why the majority of people get their cats and dogs from breeders instead of going for adoption. To understand this better, I read a few articles and started thinking from the point of users.

India's data highlighted several challenges like housing limitations, financial limitations, practical barriers, and lack of behavioural awareness about stray pets, leading to people buying bred dogs and cats instead of adopting from shelters.
